Kleinpeter Ice Cream now available State-Wide!

Tuesday, 1 December 2009 06:55 by Jeff Kleinpeter

For the first time in the history of our wonderful company, I am proud to announce that we are now state-wide! Wow, I wondered if that would ever happen, and I still can't believe it. What a wonderful thing, to be so accepted by so many folks, for simply doing the "natural" thing, for doing the right thing...using local ingredients from local suppliers...it makes perfect sense...nothing but the best for our customers!

We are getting ready to add on to the ice cream plant! Because of increased demand place on our new, state-of-the art facility, it's already time to add on. Boy, are Don Gerald and Mickey Kleinpeter happy too! Finally, some elbow room for these guys...those guys are making 18 ice cream flavors now, and are getting ready to release 5-6 new flavors...and, yes, they all use local ingredients! Email our website, I'll get the email, and you guess what's next!

The cows are doing great at the farm! Lots of babies being born this time of year. Lots of happy moms out there. Currently, we're growing non-genetically modified oats and rye grass, and the place is absolutely beautiful green...

Other than that, all is well at Kleinpeter.

Please email me if you have any questions. I'm happy to respond.

Jeff K.

American Humane Association Update

Friday, 3 July 2009 06:59 by Jeff Kleinpeter

Hello everyone. I want to let you all know that American Humane Association just completed their annual audit of our dairy farm, and we passed our audit with flying colors! The AHA team performed a very thorough inspection, and they were very please with how we take care of our cows and babies.

We are audited each year, and the AHA folks leave no stone unturned. They look at our health records, review our treatment procedures for all of our animals, inspect each barn and every pasture, and visually inspect all of our animals to rate their health independently of our viewpoint. They are very throrough. I am very proud of our team and the job that is being done to guarantee us first class milk for our milk and ice cream products.

Also, we are awaiting new ice cream containers so we can introduce 6-8 new flavors in half gallons and pint sizes. Our 3 ounce birthday size containers are in the market place now, so if you want them in a certain location where you shop, let me know and we'll get them in there for you.

We'll keep doing a great job for you, and don't forget, if you see anything that would not make our team proud, please let me know and we will get it immediately corrected. WE do care that much about you.

Moos Flash!! New Flavors Banana Pudding and Rocky Road

Monday, 15 June 2009 05:39 by Jeff Kleinpeter

We are very excited to tell you that Banana Pudding is now available. It's been out for about 2 weeks, and it is fabulous! We have received many, many compliments about it's unique flavor and the crisp texture of the vanilla wafers in this flavor. It reminds me of my mothers banana pudding that she used to make for our family. It is available in only half gallons currently. Please taste for yourself and let me know what you think.

Rocky Road will be available in the stores this Friday, June 19th. We have been testing this flavor for 3 months, and Don Gerald has hit a home run on it! It has marshmallows, chunks of chocolate, and slices of almonds in this chocolate base flavor. Please let me know what you think about it. I had it for breakfast this morning, and it was delicious. It will be available in half gallons to start, and following up in pints soon.

Field Report from our AWOL Calf

Tuesday, 19 August 2008 05:19 by Jeff Kleinpeter

One of our calves has been wondering if the grass is greener on the other side of the fence. Don't worry, she's in good hands, and being well fed and taken care of.

The main reason she wanted to "get out" was to travel our state and find more Louisiana Ingredients that we can incorporate into our delicious Ice Cream. So far, she started out in White Castle, where she found Louisiana Cane Sugar at Cora Texas Sugar Cane Mill. Then, she went to Ponchatoula, where she found Ponchatoula Strawberries. Then, she went to New Roads, where she found the Bergeron Family and brought back their Pecans to us. Then, she went to New Orleans, and yes, she walked with Fats Domino. In New Orleans, down along the river by the French Quarter, she found Aunt Sally's Praline Factory. She talked to them about a special praline, made with her momma's milk and butter, that would be rBGH-free. They made them for us, and now we have that flavor on the market.

Then, she went back to Ponchatoula and talked to the Elmer's Chocolate folks, and on the way home, she talked to the Community Coffee folks as well.

Do you have a favorite flavor that you want us to make? Let us know, and we will send our little gal to check out your idea. We just might make a flavor out of it too, so please, let your ideas flow just like our little gal's momma does.

Everyone is frantic about this new flavor, made with Aunt Sally's Pralines from New Orleans. The team at Aunt Sally's formulated a special praline made with our rBGH-free milk and butter, and it is out of this world! And, they make our pralines with Bergeron Pecans and Louisiana Cane Sugar. Look for it in your favorite store, if you can't find it, email our website and I'll help you get it in your store.

Welcome to my President's Blog

Friday, 18 April 2008 10:58 by Jeff Kleinpeter

Hi everyone,

Many of you have asked me about our operations here at Kleinpeter Dairy and at Kleinpeter Farm, and I thought it would be a good idea to share some of the issues and philosophy that the team here at Kleinpeter Farms Dairy address on a daily basis.  Giving our customers what they want is what we're all about.  We just strive every day to take care of our customers and add value to our products by keeping them simple and pure, and I’m proud of it.

So from time to time, I'll share some of the things that are important to us, such as producing rBGH-free products like our milk and our ice cream; tending to our cows as the only farm in Louisiana that's American Humane Certified, or answer some of the questions about our milk and ice cream that I get asked in emails by our customers. See you soon, and I hope you enjoy reading my blog!--Jeff K
